Sharpenhoe Clappers, A Circular Walk in the Chilterns

There are three different walks recorded in this weeks route card because a guest planned to bring children and a longer walk would not have been suitable.

The Chilterns are known for stunning views and easy access from London, Reading and Oxford. They stretch North of Luton and it is at this point we start our walk, from quaintly named Sharpenhoe Clappers.

Free parking provided by The National Trust and routes clearly marked make this an easy walk with much to see near and far. A convenient Water Tower directly North of the car park provides a good reference point from almost all positions on the walk.

We started with the 5 mile walk and then stopped at Chequers, a pub in Streatley. After an enjoyable traditional British pub lunch we completed the final 3 mile walk.
